Where are you originally from?
Since my father was in the military, I've been around. However, I consider Tucson, Arizona my home.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in local government?
I see local government management as a career that allows for continual growth both professionally and personally. As I gain more experience and diversify my strengths, I am able to better affect the lives of our citizens. I think this is a great field to be apart of if you care more about seeing that the job gets done well, than you do about receiving recognition for your efforts.
What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy the variety of my job the most. Each day I'm faced with new challenges and projects. I'm never bored, and I'm constantly learning something new.
What areas of local government or your job interest you the most?
I'm most interested in economic development, budget and intergovernmental relations.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
I'm proud of the work I did with the Atlanta Housing Authority to assist housing choice voucher recipients in becoming self-sufficient. In 15 months, we were able to teach nearly 8,000 housing voucher recipients how to become self-sufficient.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoying traveling, playing the piano, and working out.
