Mary Jacobs was presented with the Catherine F. Connolly Award at the Winter Recognition Banquet for excellence at the Assistant Manager level. Mary
is the Assistant City Manager from the City of Sierra Vista, a position she has held since 2000.
Mary has served as a municipal manager at the assistant level since 1994. Mary returned to Arizona in 2000 and took the position of Assistant City
Manager for Sierra Vista. Mary has taken on many responsibilities in Sierra Vista including overseeing eight departments and serving as the project
lead for the development of Sierra Vista's first strategic plan.
Mary has been a member of the ACMA Board of Directors since 2003 and currently just finished her term as Immediate Past President. Mary is also very
active in organizations outside of ACMA. She is an active member of ICMA and serves as a member of the 2008 conference planning committee.
Throughout her career, Mary has always focused on both the needs of the community and the needs of the individual citizen. Mary has a proven track
record of working side-by-side with citizens and community groups to contain costs, deliver quality services and improve efficiency of each public
agency with which she has worked.
