Assistant to the City Manager
City of Apache Junction
Where are you originally from?
I was born and raised in Tucson.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in local government?
Growing up I always had a desire to be involved in the community. Also, various classes and assignments I had during my
graduate work increased my interest in public finance and local government. I worked for 2 ½ years at the Joint Legislative
Budget Committee and came to the City of Apache Junction last year because I wanted to be more involved at the local level.
What do you like most about your job?
I believe that my work has a direct and positive impact in the lives of the citizens of the community. Also, there is always
something new to learn and new challenges every day.
What areas of local government interest you the most?
Developing policy and analyzing what effect that policy will have on the City and its citizens.
As a local government professional, what accomplishment are you most proud of?
The analysis I have provided for the policy and budget development I have worked on.
What are your hobbies?
My number one hobby is spending time with my wife and 2 year old son. When I do have some personal time, I enjoy watching and
playing sports, reading, and I recently became interested in amateur radio. I tested for and received my first amateur radio
operating license a couple of months ago.
