President's Message
On behalf of the AZ City/County Management Association Board I want to express our appreciation to each of you for your dedication to the Public Management profession in Arizona. I appreciate your confidence in my selection as the new ACMA President for this year. Arizona is very blessed with a cadre of public management professionals and a very strong State ICMA Association.

I want to say thank you to outgoing President Pam Kavanaugh (Glendale Deputy City Manager) for her service as President this past year and years of dedicated service to the public management profession in AZ. Pam is a great person and her shoes are very large to fill.

This year ACMA is starting the process of forming a host committee for the ICMA 2012 conference that is coming to Phoenix/Maricopa County. Thank you to Peoria Deputy City Manager Susan Thorpe for her willingness to take the lead with the host committee and to Peoria City Manager and ACMA Board member Carl Swenson for his willingness to allow Susan to partner with the ACMA Board and membership, the City of Phoenix and Maricopa County in hosting ICMA 2012. Please contact Susan or Liisa Laikko at the League if you are interested in helping with the 2012 Host Committee.

I hope that you will consider attending the ACMA Summer Conference in Oro Valley this Summer, July 28-30. Coconino County Public Works Director and Summer Conference Chair Andy Bertelsen and his Conference Planning Committee Team are doing a great job planning a great meeting. Information is available on the ACMA website.

Lastly, please consider getting involved in ACMA as the organization moves forward to further the public management profession in Arizona.
