of Glendale) on the ACMA Winter Conference Planning Committee Team. A Planning
Committee is a great avenue to get more involved in ACMA, make new relationships and help to
further the Public Management Profession in Arizona.

I began, what Harvard professors would describe as being the journey, with an expectation that
the program would somehow enhance and sharpen my professional acumen. And, while I know that it
will be sometime down the road before I come to appreciate the full benefit of having taken this
journey, I realized, as I approached my final days in the program, that it was my inner self
that has been most directly impacted.

Congratulations to the Conference Planning Committee for another successful ACMA Summer
Conference. Their decision to include a session on the Code of Ethics was much appreciated.
It was interesting to listen to the level of understanding and discussion regarding the
fundamental purposes and principles behind the Code of Ethics at a Friday morning session. We
never got to the role-playing portion of the program because of a clear lack of agreement and
understanding on the core values of the International and State Associations.
