SUMMER CONFERENCE - Thank you to the ACMA Summer Conference Team

League Staff Team. Please consider joining Kristen Krey
(City of Glendale) on the ACMA Winter Conference Planning Committee Team.
A Planning Committee is a great avenue to get more involved in ACMA, make new
relationships and help to further the Public Management Profession in Arizona.
HARVARD SCHOLARSHIP - On another note, the time is coming for ACMA
members to once again have the opportunity to apply for the ACMA Harvard Scholarship
program. You can get information on the scholarship
League Staff will be sending
out official notice of the application process in January and selections are typically
made in April. Thanks to the generosity our Scholarship Sponsors,
continue to be available to ACMA members. I have heard some frustration from a few
of you regarding the application process - that you have either applied several
times and not been selected or you are not applying because you do not feel that
your application will be offered proper consideration. I want to genuinely
assure you that selections have been and will continue to be made in an objective
and credible way that respects the applicants pursuit of the profession, along with
involvement and interest in ACMA. If you have interest, I want to encourage you to
ICMA 2012 - Susan Thorpe from the City of Peoria is leading a
Team to assist the City of Phoenix and Maricopa County in hosting the ICMA 2012
Conference. The first Team meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 3rd, 2:00 p.m.
at the League Office. Consider joining Susan and her Team to help ACMA and the local
government profession in Arizona put our best foot forward.
WINTER CONFERENCE - save the date (February 2-4, 2011) and plan to come to
Sedona for what will be a great meeting being planned by Kristen Krey and the Planning Team
(including League Staff). Contact Kristen Krey or
Liisa Laikko if you are interested in being a part of this important effort.
