Congratulations to the Arizona delegation who participated in the ICMA 2010 Conference
in San Jose, CA. Congratulations especially to the 4 ASU Andrews Fellows –
Aaron Adams, Robert Baer, Stacy Hettmansperger and Somone Johnson,
who attended the Annual ICMA Conference and for their pursuit of the public management profession.
If you believe in the public management profession and are interested in getting more involved in ACMA,
make plans to attend the upcoming ACMA Winter Conference, scheduled for
February 2 – 4, 2011 at the Sedona Hilton. Kristen Krey, Nicole Daily and the 2011 Winter
Conference Planning Team are doing a great job putting together a fresh and new program that
I know you will find public benefit in participating.
You should also consider attending the 2011 ICMA Mountain Plains and West Coast Regional Summit
on March 24-25, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency in Albuquerque, NM. This Regional Summit is a great
low-cost networking and professional development opportunity for you and those public managers in your
organization who wish to grow in the public management profession. A Young Professional Leadership Institute
is being held March 23-24, 2011 in conjunction with the Summit geared largely to those in the
beginning of their public management career. Details are available at
Lastly, I wanted to bring to your attention a national effort to promote the role and value of professional
local government management, educating citizens, elected officials, the media and leaders about the
importance of professional management. Check out the Life, Well Run Value of the Profession Campaign by
Thank you for who you are and what you do for your communities and the public management profession in Arizona.
