MOUNTAIN PLAINS REGIONAL SUMMIT - An average of 75 individuals attended each of the four
ICMA regional summits in March and April 2010. These gatherings offer professional development opportunities,
time to network with colleagues in the region and informational updates on ICMA activities and benefits. Online
registration is available for all the Mountain Plains/West Coast: March 24-25, 2010 –
Albuquerque, New Mexico; Hyatt Regency Albuquerque.
CONGRATULATIONS – to Marana Manager and incoming ACMA President Gilbert Davidson
on his pending designation as an ICMA Credentialed Manager. Gilbert, you are a great example of a professional manager
and we are lucky to have you in the Profession in Arizona. Gilbert currently serves on the ACMA Board as the President-Elect
and will take over as President at the ACMA Winter Conference in Sedona.
ACMA WINTER CONFERENCE – I hope that each and every one of you are making plans to attend the upcoming
ACMA Winter Conference, February 2-4 at the Sedona Hilton. Kristen Krey and the
Conference Planning Team are doing a great job putting together a quality meeting that will be worth your participation.
ICMA Executive Director Bob O'Neill will be joining us Wednesday evening for the reception to talk about the
ICMA Life, Well Run Initiative.
ICMA 2011 – as the host state for ICMA 2012, Arizona will want to make a strong showing at the ICMA 2011
Conference to encourage high attendance for 2012. Susan Thorpe from the City of Peoria, Paula West from the City of Phoenix
and the 2012 Host Committee Team will be staffing an Arizona booth at the 2011 Annual Conference, September 18-21 in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. If you can, make plans to join us in Milwaukee and support the effort to tell folks about Arizona and why they should
come to Phoenix / Maricopa County in October 2012.
