ACMA Honors Esser and Andrews Scholarship Recipients
The Charles A. Esser Scholarship is a $2,000 award given to a student who is already working full-time for a local government. The 2013 Esser Scholarship is awarded to Molly Hood. Molly is currently a senior planner for the town of Paradise Valley, and is enrolled in the Master of Public Administration program at Arizona State University.

The second ACMA scholarship honors Marvin Andrews, a former Phoenix city manager and ACMA life member. This award is for a traditional full-time student who exhibits a strong interest in pursuing a career in local government. ACMA provides matching funds to a city or town with a population of less than 50,000 or a county under 200,000, in order to host the Andrews Scholar as an intern. This year, six proposals were submitted to host the Andrews intern: Bullhead City, Casa Grande, Marana, Queen Creek, Tusayan and Queen Creek. The 2013 Andrews Scholarship is awarded to Caleb Blaschke. Caleb currently serves as an intern with the city of Sierra Vista and is enrolled in the MPA program at the University of Arizona. He will make his selection for his internship in the coming months.
