ACMA 2014 Winter Conference
By Bryant Powell, Conference Chair and Apache Junction Assistant City Manager

Arizona City/County Management Association is 60! - What a great year to be! I invite you to come and join together to reflect on our past, and to explore the opportunities of the future. Our winter conference is a great opportunity to do just that.

This year's ACMA 2014 Winter Conference will be held at the Sedona Hilton February 5-7, 2014.

Our association is a professional organization of over 250 members dedicated to increasing the knowledge and ability of city, town, and county managers, as well as other local government administrators. Our purpose is to strengthen the quality of local government in the state of Arizona through professional management, education, training, and the mutual exchange of information.

For 60 years, ACMA has created a very strong foundation of leadership, service, and community that have benefited the quality of life for millions of Arizonans. But the celebration of 60 years must do more than show off ACMA's superb past. The winter conference and all year long is an opportunity to demonstrate that we, like our predecessors, are as committed now as ever to exceptional professional local government.

Our goal at the planning committee is to assemble together valuable educational sessions along with sufficient time for you to connect up with fellow colleagues, to assist us all in our joint goal of working with our communities, elected officials and our staff in providing the highest quality professional government which will enhance and benefit the lives of Arizonans all across the state.

Our annual recognition and awards ceremony will also take place at the winter conference, which will recognize outstanding achievements by Arizona local government professionals. I hope you are able to join us in Sedona as we honor leaders in our profession and work together to provide improved professional management in our communities.
