ACMA Honors Esser and Andrews Scholarship Recipients
The Charles A. Esser Scholarship is a $2,000 award given to a student who is already working full-time for a local government. The 2014 Esser Scholarship is awarded to Kacie Howard.

Kacie is currently an administrative assistant in the public transit department for the city of Phoenix, and is enrolled in the MPA program at Arizona State University.

The second ACMA scholarship honors Marvin Andrews, a former Phoenix city manager and ACMA life member. This award is for a traditional full-time student who exhibits a strong interest in pursuing a career in local government. ACMA provides matching funds to a city or town with a population of less than 50,000 or a county under 200,000, in order to host the Andrews Scholar as an intern. This year, seven proposals were submitted to host the Andrews intern: Casa Grande, Chino Valley, Oro Valley, Queen Creek, Sedona, Wickenburg and Coconino County. The 2014 Andrews Scholarship is awarded to Jillian Childress. Jillian currently serves as an intern in the mayor's office with the city of Phoenix and is enrolled in the MPA program at Arizona State University. She will make her selection in the coming weeks.
