Andrews Fellowship Update
George Pettit, ACMA Life Member
ASU Professor of Practice

This is always a busy time of year for the Fellowship. We are graduating three fellows at the May 14, 2015 Convocation at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe. Matt Behunin, Jake Meshke and Dominic Papa will receive their Masters in Public Administration. This brings the total alumni count to 27 from eight classes. To date, 24 graduates are still actively employed in government, two are in the private sector, and one is managing a family.

My thanks for the continued support of local governments in paying for and providing a learning experience through second year internships starting in August 2015. Placement Agreements for Craig Dudek, Yesenia Castaneda and Tyler Goodman are in process with Gilbert, Avondale and Peoria.

Thank you Josh Wright, Nicole Lance, Karen Thoreson, David Swindell and Nicole Boryczka for your service in screening the applicants and participating in the interviews for the Fall 2015 Cohort. This represents the 10th Class of Marvin Andrews Fellows. Thanks to the continuing support of Stifel Nicolaus (Grant Hamill et al.) and individual members we have the financial capacity for four Marvins. I am pleased to report Kristen Ayers (BA Business UofA 2015), Dominic "Blaise" Caudill (BA International Affairs NAU 2013), Dorian Sanchez (BA Global Studies ASU 2014), and Dominic Decono (BS Communications ASU 2015) have accepted the Fellowship. This is the first four person cohort since 2010. They start the week of August 3, 2015.

I truly appreciate the ongoing support from the membership of ACMA. This Fellowship was established in 2007 to develop the next generation of municipal leaders. The partnership of ACMA, ASU, the Alliance for Innovation, individual communities and mentoring individuals has provided the environment and educational opportunity to meet that challenge. Your continuing financial support is always needed, so feel free to donate at any time by clicking here.
