ACMA Mentoring - Sign up for Lunch with a Mentor at the Summer Conference
By Kristen Krey, Grants Administrator, City of Glendale

"Mentorship is a personal development relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. The mentor may be older or younger, but have a certain area of expertise. It is a learning and development partnership between someone with vast experience and someone who wants to learn." - Farren Ph.D., Caela. "Eight Types of Mentor: Which Ones Do You Need?"

Do you want to learn? If so, then the ACMA Lunch with a Mentor is highly recommended!

My personal experience last summer conference was outstanding. As an experienced manager, I thought I knew everything (insert a hint of sarcasm). The executive I had lunch with gave me some advice that no one ever had before; he took the time to review my resume prior to our lunch and pointed out that I didn't quantify some of the successes in my resume, and that employers are looking for results! No matter whether you are just starting your career, in the middle of it, or looking to change it, there are always new insights and valuable advice you can gain from a mentor!

Lunch with a Mentor will be held during lunch on Wednesday, July 22 at noon, prior to the first session of the conference. Register in advance for this great opportunity!
