Transforming Local Government Conference a Huge Success!

The 2015 Alliance for Innovation Transforming Local Government Conference was held in Phoenix, April 13- 15.

The annual conference was hosted by the City of Phoenix and ACMA, in conjunction with Avondale, Gilbert, Goodyear, Mesa, Peoria, Scottsdale, Sierra Vista, Coconino County, Maricopa County, Navajo County, and ASU School of Public Affairs.

560 local government professionals from across the continent embarked upon Phoenix, receiving the opportunity to hear about the top innovations occurring in local governments across the US and Canada. The theme, Our Community 2025, focused on preparing organizations to provide services in the coming years.

Several Arizona communities had the privilege of sharing their expertise presenting on subjects from master planning to employee engagement, and guided attendees on tours of local innovations including the Gilbert Neely Wastewater Treatment Facility, Maricopa County Human Services Campus, Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve and Mesa higher education facilities. The City of Flagstaff was recognized as the highest-rated case study presentation.

A HUGE "thank you" goes out to all of the ACMA members who served on the host planning committee. Their commitment to a year full of planning led to one successful conference!

The 2016 TLG Conference will be held June 15 - 17 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
