The Arizona City/County Management Association (ACMA) recently awarded ACMA Senior Advisor and Former Chandler Assistant City Manager Pat McDermott with life membership.

Pat has more than 38 years of service in local government serving in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona. Pat retired from the City of Chandler in 2015 after serving as the assistant city manager for 24 years. All of his service was done with distinction and Pat always brought honor to the profession.

During that period, he was a member of ACMA and served the organization in various capacities, such as chair of the Ethics Committee and member of the Committee of Professional Conduct. He was recognized by the organization for his service to the city by the awarding of the ACMA Catherine F. Connolly award in 2013. In January 2016, Pat was appointed by the ACMA Board to serve as one of the two senior advisors for ACMA and ICMA.

Pat has been an active member of ICMA and was awarded with a life member designation upon his retirement from active service. Pat's professional performance has been a model of appropriate behavior for a municipal official. He has undertaken all of his tasks with a high standard of ethics and is respected by his professional colleagues and elected officials. Pat's past and present service to the state of Arizona is lasting and meaningful.
