ACMA Letter from the President
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your ACMA President for this coming year. I am excited for this chance to serve our organization as we seek out new opportunities to attract new members and support our core association members that are so dedicated to serving all of our communities. It was my honor to officiate the awards dinner in Sedona to recognize and celebrate the many examples of that dedication.

I would like to thank your immediate past president, Nicole Lance, Deputy City Manager in Surprise. Nicole did an outstanding job creating new opportunities for members and injecting her energy throughout the Association. ACMA continued building relationships with sponsors to provide quality programs that support our membership. Nicole was instrumental as the association implemented the Next Generation Leadership Conference and the Women Leading Government Initiative. We are all grateful to have her continue to provide that enthusiasm and creativity on the board for another year.

I would like to acknowledge the progress in the Key Results Areas of the ACMA strategic plan by the ACMA Board over the past several years. Over the next year I anticipate we will continue building upon that success in terms of our membership growth and diversification, our financial stability and improving value for our members as well as our sponsors.

I plan to look for new ideas and approaches in the areas of the strategic plan where we can be more creative and innovative as we look forward.

We have a unique opportunity to consider the changing demographics of our membership. Those opportunities include considering the perspectives of all generations entering our profession. This provides a potential to reach a broader membership of future leaders and rising stars that may be progressing towards our profession through non-traditional career paths.

To say the least, we live in interesting times. There are many unknowns that will likely impact our communities beyond our control and from other levels of government. The task for ACMA is to continue providing the support and programmatic opportunities that support the professionalism and dedication you provide to the communities you serve.
